I was driving through Converse, Texas, a small city just East of San Antonio, when I spotted a fire engine parked on the street in front of the fire station. I figured it would make a good picture, so I stopped, grabbed my camera and took a picture of it as well as a few others that were in the station. The firemen were friendly and welcomed me to take these pictures. It was a lot of fun taking these pictures!

The pictures were taken with an aged Sony A300 DSLR with an vintage (1985) 28-85mm lens, ISO 100, Manual Mode. Tejaswrangler :)

Very good pictures. Had to copy and send them to my brother-in-law who just retired as a fire chief in San Gabriel, CA.

I liked the photos. One suggestion would be to erase the utility poles that seem to be sticking up from the engine in the first photo and remove whatever is in the sidewalk.

Jerry B, thanks for the suggestions, but I left them this way because I wanted them to represent the actual site. Thanks for viewing the pictures and taking the time to make the suggestions, they were appreciated. :)

Don't know why some have the obsession of removing poles, lines, etc from all their photos. I really like your views, showing the engines in their natural settings, rather than in a 'sterile' environment like when they do advertising photos.

VERY nicely done!

Wahawk, thanks for viewing the pictures. In reference to removing power lines and etc., some folks like to do it, some don't, I just happen to not do it. What is great about this hobby is that you can pretty much do as you so desire. It is all about having fun. The gentleman was being sincere and was trying to be helpful. Please have a great day! :)

Great photos...you can even see them shine! I love how firemen keep their engines so clean. Our son is a fireman in Austin and loves it.
