Trying something different, been having in issue with the size of soft box getting into the bushes. Was researching an old technique cross polarization = CRP filter on lens and polarization film (3D glasses) on strobe. To me it looks as if its not as sharp but takes the flare out of the eyes, no life though. My view finder was also dirty, need to remember to keep it clean.

ISO 100 - 1/160 sec - f/16

36mm extension

Spider is most likely a young female Wolf spider.
The green insect is an aphid nymph, and I do not recognize the wing insect, but suspect it is a predatory wasp.

I think your right, to many variables in place. The softbox makes the camera look serious in the field. :-D
