This short video speaks VOLUMES about the manufacturing and testing processes that go into the making of your cameras memory cards. Half my cards are Lexar, never had a failure or glitch with any of them. This is WELL WORTH a quick watch:

Thanks MT. Noticed that the company is in Utah, but most employees are oriental. Interesting.

You would not believe how large a single bit of memory (core) was when I first started in civilian computer maintenance in the mid-sixties. They had not even heard of solid state memory yet, though we had it in the military. Now, 64GB on a chip is nothing.

That was a great video. I note that the manufacturing of the Disc is in Utah, and the rest of the operation is in China.
It also opens a new question in my mind and a subject often discussed in this forum. "Backup of images".
My question is, are solid state chips a better way to store Long term your image files. How long is the life of these type chips?
What do you think or know?

I remember paying over $500 for a 40 Mb harddrive and it was MFM, the standard of the time. Now completely outclassed by the least expensive SD card or thumb drive available.

Ain't technology wonderful? If only time had improved our society at the same rate rather than depreciated it.

Technology went one way and society went the other way.

Sure, just pop off the lens board and throw in several!
