I read the article and could not agree more. I attended the local "French Quarter Festival" yesterday, and spied a young woman wearing a muted pink dress, large sun glasses, and shading herself from the sun with a large translucent green parasol. What a blast of color, in all the khaki, and white, jeans and tee shirts. I just had to photograph her. I did a few candid shots, and then approached her, and asked permission, with the explanation of the interest in the shot. She was willing and even did a pose. I promised to email the results, and did as promised. I now have portrait appointment for a real studio shoot in the coming week.
