I wouldn't use any as I would only use an off camera flash and then I use Stofen and Lumiquest
The built in flash is at best 12gn

I would prefer off camera flash as well. That is a couple months out. However I think the pop up has some benefits and isn't a complete waste.

What you have to consider is what I said about the Gn, of JUST 10-12 adding a bounce will leave VERY little light for the subject
You have a site showing $39 diffusers personally I would rather save a month and get a proper flash

1/ pair of scissors
2/ cut a piece of white cardboard or plastic in the shape you want.
3/ Grab an elastic from a stalk of broccoli
4/ attach cut out to flash unit using elastic
5/ Shoot to your heart's content.
Cost involved?

Google flash gn
"This flash has a guide number of 13 meters at ISO 100 -- par for the course on a D-SLR. "
i have not done much with my pop up flash so I need to look at the settings and adjustments. I hadn't looked at it because I didn't have heavy intentions of using it much. However i thought the diffusers listed gave some decent image results that I could apply.
Thank you for the feedback
I have a diffuser that was less then $10 on ebay. It was from China. I find that it a great connivance to use the pop up when shooting just a few people and I'm up close. It seems to do about what the one you are talking about does. It just fits into the hot shoe of the camera and doesn't interfere with the flash. It does soften the flash and lessens shadows very nicely. I also use it when I use my prime flash off camera. The through the lens metering works with both. I would say get one and try it you will only be out $10, - Dave

I did see some of the cheap collapsible ones on ebay. like a collapsible softbox for pop up. it would be nice to see side by side comparisons of photos.
