The rock carvings of Baodingshan at Dazu, China are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The carvings were created in a Buddhist grotto between 1179 and 1249 AD. There are more than 50,000 sculptures representing the highest level of Chinese cave temple art.

Greg - appreciate your comment. The carvings were unbelievable and were carved so long ago. There are several other sites for carvings but the Baodingshan site where we visited is supposed to be the most spectacular.
