Are you simply asking for someone to say keep them both or why get rid of one, only you can decide what you shoot and need as you have not said

I started with a crop sensor camera (Nikon) and went FF (Nikon). My choice was to keep both as either have benefits and drawbacks. At least I have 2 bodies which afford to carry 2 mounted lenses at the ready.

I think you have the best of both worlds...........we all dream about having a FF and a cropped sensor camera !

Keep them both and use them when they are best: FF for landscape and portrait, then the 7D for sports / action

well im i think im into street photography and landscape.i ask the question as the 7d is a newer camera but the 1ds takes far better low light shots etc.weight between both are like chalk and cheese

Out of the 26,000 uhh membership and the active 250 at any given time, you may be the only person with your dilemma. I'd say you just need to get on with your decision.

Try out a 1D Mark III. The Mark II is kind of out dated since the pixel count is pretty low compared to most of todays cameras. The Mark III is low too, but not as low as the Mark II.

My decision would be to keep both cameras as long as they are working well for you, and you are getting the results you want with both. Then keep both. I would say this is a no-brainer.

So the Sigma does not fit on the full frame body?

7D, the 1DmkII is slow, ancient and still not full frame! Go here to make your own decision, functionality vs impressive neck candy:

Let's get one thing straight ... the 1D MkII is NOT a full frame sensor body. It has a 1.3 factor whereas the 7D has a 1.6 factor. The 1D"S" is the body with a full size sensor and I would rather has a 5D or a 6D. The 1D MkII has an old style battery that Canon found didn't work very well. It is just an "OLD TECHNOLOGY" camera. Just my thoughts, J. Goffe

Lumpski, Only you can decide if the crop is what you need. Me, for both street and landscape the Cheese is better.
Things to consider: If you find yourself in Timbutu with a dead battery the cheese will take AA's. If you need a card in same city, with dual slots you can get an SD card. ONLY in the civilized world can you get CF's. If you are waiting for that storm to break to get that ultimate shot, with the cheese you can stand in the rain till the exact moment happens. If you have to throw it at a drunk while shooting street, I'll bet the big cheese will still work! And the caulk? Well you know what happens when you drop chaulk. And if it's dry chedder, even better!!
