Cleaning the camera mirrors

Right iv cleaned my cameras mirrors etc with the proper equipment but unfortunatly i still crap on the mirrors that i cant get off and it shows in the photos(not good).just wondering if anyone has had this problem them self and how much it will cost me to get it cleaned by the pros grrrr.

As the mirror has nothing to do with the image it could be scratched and carp and would not affect the image, think about it, the mirror moves UP when the photo is taken.
Rubbish is on sensor

true that i still have alot to learn i admit!Ihave no search in my camera menu but i have put it on the censour clean but no go :thumbdown:

well the camera has been on sensor clean for about 15 minutes now so not sure whats going on

Then you may need to physically clean the sensor. Either do it yourself or let someone else do it.

yep iv already physically cleaned it that was my question.how much will it cost to get it done by the pros ie canon or camera world

Weeew, after I reread my post, I was hoping you wouldn't take offense. Hope you get it cleaned at a reasonable price. I can pay to have mine cleaned for about $50.00. Prices will vary. You can buy the kits and do it yourself. Do a search here on the Hog and see what most recommend. Good luck.

before paying for anything, is the dirt on your mirror or sensor? if it is the mirror, as jr1 said it does not effect the photo.

iv cleaned the sensor with a cleaning kit but when i hold the camera upto the light i can see what looks like grit.iv put the sensor clean on the camera but it just cleans for about 15min and doesnt stop.the grit i see comes through on shots i take.could be on the mirror or senor not sure.i think ill just take it to the pros but thanks anywho!

if it comes through on the pictures it is on the sensor(or possibly lens). any dirt on the mirror would not show on the pictures at all. when set your camera to sensor clean, usually all it does is to lock the mirror up thereby giving access to the sensor. ive just noticed that you said you had used a cleaning kit. i take it that you used this on the sensor and not the mirror. sorry if i am stating the obvious :-)

Yes and no. With my Nikon, sensor cleaning just vibrates the sensor for 2-3 seconds to try to shake dust off. 15 minutes on sensor cleaning? Also Nikon DOES NOT lock the mirror up while cleaning. Just wonder how many people don't know you have to lock the mirror up to get to the sensor? Being a recent film to digital convert, it took me a bit to figure that one out.
