Worse, it makes you dependent upon people who are half a century younger than you. Don't let anyone tell you that it brings you peace, either, because thats the biggest lie of all.

What! You mean its not the golden years , "who would have thought". Getting old is not for sisseys , my grand dad always said .

My thoughts exactly. I'm 64 still think like an 18 year old but unfortunately my body isn't. I now find simple chores painful and other parts unwilling to co-operate!!.

My mother told me that also, along with " don't get gray." I've always tried to be a good daughter, but it keeps getting tougher and tougher. She died young, at 60.

You cant have the pleasures of being old without getting old! I'm 77 and doing he things I couldn't afford or had the time when I was young. It's hard to have grand and great grand children without being old. I agree that growing old isn't for those who aren't prepared but for those who are it's a great pleasure.
