In England, a man working at a swan sanctuary was killed by a swan. He was on the lake in a kayak and got too close to the swan's nest. It turned over his kayak and kept him from getting to the shore. Swans can be vicious. I was taking a picture of one near the shore, and it started after me.

I think we are ALL complacent, when it comes to nature.

We need to remember WE are encroaching on THEIR lives and all animals are wild

Our squirrels haven't armed themselves yet.

Jerry, I have seen some squirrels that are armed, but with very, very small hand guns, you know, squirrel sized, BUT NOT WITH RPGs and a helmet, like like the Brit squirrels !!

I guess that would qualify as a concealed weapon, and in NY, they have to licensed. I think I'm safe from the squirrels.

Yepper the country can be a dangerous place for city folk who know only what they see on TV about wildlife. They all look so cute and cuddly. Just like country folk have no idea how to protect themselves in the city we just assume city folk are as friendly and congenial as the country folk. You have to understand your surroundings.

ThatÂ’s a perfect example Jerry, you see a fictional movie and it becomes a reality. Just like these folks who watch Gentle Ben and figure that bears are friendly creatures. Folks watch shows like Grizzly Adams and figure that wild animals can make great pets, wrong.
