UNBELIEVABLE.

In the coming years, with all the welfare and other programs designed to help the non-working seqment of our population, whether justified or not, it is not unlikely there will be a tax based on how much air you inhale.

As a country, giving away money just because individuals refuse to work for a variety of reasons is totally ignorant. How about the government re-establishing the C.C.C. and having these welfare recipients be entered into a new and revitalized C.C.C. for public works programs throughout the United States.

At least this way, we get some results from our taxed income to the 'welfare crowd,' and they can have some pride in themselves.

Your post certainly makes sense.
My father-in-law told us of the time he spent in CCC in the mid thirties. It got him through the rough times, and he went on to start his own steel erection company.

According to the article, the reason for the tax is to "raise revenue to cleanup [sic] the Chesapeake Bay." How do you tie this in with the "Welfare crowd"?

Tax political contributions.
It's fair for all regardless of political party.
Just like high school sports: Pay to play.

Would you agree that unions are a potential gold mine for taxation?

Fair enough. If said societies or business groups are politically active, they should be taxed also.
