DennisK you have such a gift for words and phrases. I tried to be decent in offering some historical information and actually agreed with you on a topic, however, you chose to ignore it and again with your supreme wisdom have chosen to throw out your wonderful and witty responses. Glad you are through with me, as it is not worth the effort to discuss this any further with you. Enjoy your guns!

Thanks imntrti for the info about the NYS law. Chances are that if this goes to the Supreme Court, NY will have to back down. However, to make a full scale confiscation to take place across the board regardless of medical condition, still in my opinion is remote.

I hope and pray you are right Moose. I don't have much trust regarding the motives and abilities of our legislative members and damage done is hard to undo...not to mention expensive to those affected. The NYS law was rushed through without input from law enforcement and things like that just further feed my distrust. The new law has so many flaws...not the least of which, it has no exemptions for active duty law enforcement officers, which would, in reality make them criminals for having duty guns with clips with a greater than 10 round capacity. Its a mess, and it should have NEVER taken place no matter what your stance on gun control laws is. Fixing it is going to be interesting to watch.

You're right. There's so much emotion over the school shooting, the politicians are responding without really thinking, hoping to appease. I can't believe how a medical doctor would release information like that. That is scary.

Moose, you need to study the 2nd amendment a bit more, what the meaning of the word "state" meant, and a what a "well regulated militia" meant when written. Then read the other writings of those who wrote the 2nd. Their intent is NOT AMBIGUOUS at all- that some say it is, is a boldface lie. Then understand why it was placed second, in this most important list in history. It was not by accident. Without it, hope for the survival for all the rest, if history is any lesson, becomes very dim.

The bill of rights gives power to the individual, which is primarily what sets it apart from similar documents in the world. You place your trust in Government, but every government in history has failed. The bill of rights was designed to place trust in the people.... which is the only reason we remain free.

While I can't trust every person, and perhaps you are one of them, I do trust the majority of the American people, and in fact most people in the world. Therein lies the difference between you and thise who think like you and those who think like I do. "imntrt1" is a cop who understands that people are not his enemy- drives you nuts huh!

I can't think of a single government I can trust completely. Everyone of them, ours included, treats an individual like a pawn. They don't care about little old you at all- even a little-- don't pay your taxes, or do something they don't like and you find out soon enough. This fact doesn't surprise me, I expect little from the government, and I am rarely disappointed.

It does surprise me that your side can't see this and yet want them to "take care" of you.
