I think we have been oversold on technology, seems that we (me included) are sold on the idea of perfection based on new products instead of perfection based on education of how to use the products we have. If I am a good photographer and know my craft I can take a photograph with a DX and FX camera and you would be hard pressed to know which photograph came out of which format. There are obvious advantages in both formats and weaknesses as well, choose your tool based on the project at hand, in low light situations or situations where I might do heavily cropping I would choose my D800 other times I might chose my D2X, D7000 or D7100, but I will always chose an FX lens.

I have to agree with much of what was written. I sold off all my D7000's after going to the D800 and D800E bodies, for exactly the reasons stated. BUT, I just recently got the D7100 as its DX performance exceeds the D800 in DX mode. Glad I picked it up as it is doing exactly what I had hoped it would do for me.
