I would estimate at least $50,000 if not $75,000 for the body only. Cinematic quality isn't cheap.

Beautiful stuff for sure. Since the major studios in Hollywood are leaving film behind, like every one else, It's not surprising cameras like this one are now in demand.

The only problem is, as one director put it, the long tailing cables that have to go with the camera - limiting he called it. Very sharp pictures but difficult to work with - at least right now.

Our local independent theater is raising funds to convert to digital projection because that's required by the distributor.

yes and I read it costs each theater about $80-grand. There is thought that many small theaters will simply go away because they don't have and can't raise that kind of cash.

This company, Upstate Films, has two small theaters, and they're trying to raise $180,000. They've almost made it.
