Some organisations in the UK boycott any goods made by settlers in the West Bank. Although an Israel supporter I don't blame them, they are entitled to their opinions. What I do blame them for is these same people will buy anything made in China.China has annexed an entire country in Tibet and outlawed it's leader. They have poured millions of Chinese into Tibet and clamp down on the Tibetian way of life. Hypocritical?

Clearly hypocritical, just like PETA that rail against treatment of animals but I know they enjoy a good steak once in awhile while thye wear leather shoes. Better to look socially aware than to truly be.

Socialism was tried here - in the day when politics was about policies not personalities. (pre Ted Heath) Trouble was Thatcher made politics a personal point of view and won for 18 years or more. Every party now has to find a personality to emulate this so policy goes out the window. Hence the appeal of Boris Johnson. I realize that government is a farce, but that will truly be a step too far.
There's a bit more to this story Mate...
I've been to Israel and learned that while these settlements have been the greatest barrier in terms of achieving peace with the Palestinians, many of these same West Bank settlers are ultra-Orthodox Jews whom refuse to serve in the Israeli military.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has for years kissed their ass because he needs these ultras' votes in the knesset to stay in power.
Other Israeli kids do the fighting while these draft dodgers avoid military service.
I heard that Israel's high court has recently ruled that these ultras have to serve and they are already defying the court's ruling.
I do, however, agree with you on China.
Our own Pentagon is now concerned with the Chinese military's massive air, naval and ground forces build up.
Where in bloody hell do they think the Chi-coms got all that money...except from working slave prisoner labor and little kids in factories owned by their same military?
I've no idea of how many good jobs were lost in your UK to China, but over here it numbers in the millions.

Just read on Sky news that Hollywood is making most of the new "Transformers" film in China which will use not only China's special effects teams but also star some Chinese actors.
Seems Hollywood's following the cheap way and heading East.
You are quite right in what you say Matt.My whole point is that, mostly left wingers here boycott left bamk goods, and I've no argument with that, but will buy Chinese goods till the cows come home. These vociferous left wingers have double standards but because China is a communist country they won't have a word said against it.
