If you ask, and she says No, you're kinda stuck. Assuming it's not a question of groceries or the lens, does the UPS guy have to come right to your door? I used to meet mine at the end of the driveway. When my wife noticed a lens or body, I'd say (honestly), "Oh, I've had this for a while." She really didn't care what I got as long as I could put food on the table. If I asked her if I could get something, she would feel obliged to give it serious thought and consider the financial angle. I eventually learned to relieve her of that burden. :D

You don't get it yet? Just get her addicted to photography like I did with my husband. But he shoots with Nikon and I shoot canon. So we feed each others addiction. My business and he never squalks when I say honey the 800 mm is on its way. He just thinks mmmm what can I buy to out do her!! Gotta love it. And we can't share!! Hehe it works for us :-) never any guilt or sleeping on the sofa!

I find jewelry works pretty good.:):) But that is a pretty big item. Maybe a new car for her.:):) Some times I can get away with flowers too.:)
