That's just so cool...my wife and I went to Mule Days too, but missed the Mule Pull which I think is the best show to see. I also love seeing them pull at the Tennessee State Fair. It's amazing how much they do pull...and what's even more amazing, is that they love doing it. The teams I saw were chomping at the bit, they couldn't wait to get hooked up to the sled.

This seems a bit cruel to me. Why don't the people just pull the weights while someone gets behind them with a whip when they tire, forcing them to go on even when it hurts? Now, I would pay to see that!

Not saying this to loud but I think that you missed the point mules are treated better that your House pets and in return do what they do for the love of the pull and the love of their keepers, the same goes for draft horses they do the same as the mules and as far as being whipped I can say that draft horses are not whipped and I would imagine in the case of the mules they receive the same treatment. God help anyone with the likes of PETA around as they would like nothing better than to shut down a show where an animal was hurt!!!
