Marumi DHG Light Control 8 ND8 Filters

Can anyone please give me feedback on the Marumi brand of ND filter? It appears to be a very affordable filter and comments on the internet generally appear to be positive. But any experience from this site would be greatly appreciated.

Marumi is made in Japan, mostly for Asian&European markets. they are considered as good filters.
some people say Marumi=Kenko.

Thanks for the quick response Elie, much appreciated. Funny for some reason I think of this as a US/UK dominated site but there you are online in France! :)

I have several Marumi filters and owned them for some years. Expensive here in New Zealand but I think worth the money.
Only comment to make, and it may be something I did;
I have their IR filter and for some reason it attracts dust like a magnet!
It's stored the same as the others, it's cleaned with the same fluid and
cloths but every time I get it out its covered in dust, both sides. Weird.
Other than that they seem robust Mine are 72mm

Other than that they seem robust. Mine are 72mm, oldest probably 10
years and still scratch free and fitting well.
I don't make prints larger than A3 but at that size notice no irregularities
if there are any.
Can't ask for much more.
Cheers

Consider getting a Variable ND. Usually these are 1 to 8 stops and usually cost about the same as getting all 3 standard ND's (2,4,8).

This site has a test of polarizers, with prices listed in Polish currency. I got a 77mm Marumi, #2, for about $83.

thanks Jerry,
looks like marumi might be a very good buy at their price - more than good enough for an amateur like me.

It gives better results that the generic, low-priced polarizers I've used in the past. I don't like to buy anything without reading reviews.

I can attest to the quality of their CP and clear filters.

Hmmm...a quick Google shows Murumi has them also. Not cheap but not outrageous either. I might need one of them as soon as my current client gets around to paying me.

But I see you can get a 2, 4, and 8 for about $40 less than the variable.

Hmmm again.
