Still learning lighting I guess practice makes perfect, so I better get to practicing LOL. Thoughts??
1 Flood light
1 flood light #2
External flash
Not nuts about #2 (shooing UP someone's nose is seldom a good choice) but 1 and 3 are quite nice. The look is very much like the movie studio look of the 30's and 40's. Very HARD light with hard shadows. Google George Hurrell.
Be careful with this lighting style as it will look terrible on women with complexions that are not as good as your model. This lighting will bring out every flaw. In the case of these images, it works very well.
I like three but would soften it some.
I follow an artist called Palaydyan Konstantin
He shoots in a style similar to three.
Look here
http://500px.com/photo/30366093Much more pleasing and more appropriate for the time period you are emulating. I would say just work on your post processing. Your images are well lit.
I basically agree with the Captain as usual. Just another guy that shoots in this style to look at.
The strong lighting helps tell the story of the strong tattoos.
I would like to see all of the tattoo!!!   These are great.

Yeah? ...and your point is...?
I have tried to post other pics but can't seem to do it. I just made #3 alittle softer.
You guys are funny :)
she wouldn't be naked ..........she's got her tattoo's on :)
I would like to see more of you photos. I like your style in these.
I like 2 the best. In image 1 the shadow on the arm gives it a stick like look. How to get around that and still have the dramatic shadows will take someone better than me.
I agree with softening the photos.
I was always told it was an insult not to ask to see a persons tats. So I hope these posts did not offend her. Just guys trying to be politically correct. LOL
