Here is an interesting way of showing B&W views changing to color.

I really like the B&W and color comparison but I find the religious inclusion very annoying. This should just be a photography demonstration and yet there just had to be a religious connotation included.

Thank you! I've always wondered why anyone selects B/W over color.

I too am not religious, but since I have a respect for a god bigger than any or all religions, I enjoyed this immensely.

Doesn't work on iPad; so watch on laptop or desktop.

I have to disagree, sometimes B & W does work better, take a look at these on National Geographic. Simply "click" on the images to see them larger, here's the link:-

Lots of people don't like colourised (sorry that should be colorised for our American friends) B & W images, personally I think they can add interest to an image. Here's one I did of my Granddaughter at her dancing class, aptly entitled "Passed with Flying Colours", What do you think!

I was brought up on B&W photography in the newspaper world. My RPS Distinction was in B&W prints. I did not find all of the images looked 'better' when converted to colour.

Lol...for anyone annoyed by a "God" reference...just mentally substitute "random chance processes over long periods of time...." instead. :)

God didn't create those images, PP did.
I have been converted to pagan Infrared by Lasik Lifepixel.

That's it exactly. B&W looks like newspaper photos from long ago. If that's the look desired, fine. Often B&W pics look like Ansel Adams wannabes ... to me. So there are at least two "good" uses for B&W.
(Actually, 1066, it's "colorized" for us Yanks.)

Good color photography is a skill and monochrome photography is a skill. Monochrome is not the fix for bad color images (it will only be a bad monochrome image). Not everything looks best in monochrome and not everything looks best in color. Both should be able to co-exist and recognized for the work done.

Since digital pictures don't cost anything and I have a 32 GB SD card I sometime take B&W, color and Sepia of the same thing just for fun and I bought a terabyte HD to store them on, here are a few of an early tractor on display in Molson, Washington.
