Greg...

You may agree with Melissa or not...your choice.

Suggest you spend two minutes with a dictionary to learn what 'socialism' is.

It is not what you think.

Not trying to start something, just pointing out.

"Socialism" means that the government owns the means of production.

That is not true in our system nor does anyone I know advocate it.

Just sayin'...tom

Merriam Webster
Socialism:
2a. A system of society or group living in which there is no private property...... seems a fitting video clip to illustrate a point..

Definition of SOCIALISM

1
: any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods
2
a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property
b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state
3
: a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

This from the on-line dictionary. Still doesn't seem too appropriate to me, unless the discussion is whether children are private property, or public property. Not sure "property" applies at all, but...

I think I ( we ) have wasted too much time on this.

Cheers, tom

Tom your probably right socialism probably wasn't the correct term to use. But I don't think it's a waste to look at what people are saying these days. There seem to be a lot of people that think parents either don't have the sense or right to raise their children as they see fit. They are not property but a responsibility. So I guess socialism isn't that far off if she is considering them as property....lol.

Socialism" means that the government owns the means of production.

Anyway was hoping to get folks thoughts on the video not my choice of words.
