If squeamish don't look. An Anglers accident. Hook in thumb.

I didn't take this picture but this is a warning to all Anglers or their children if you take them fishing.
No this didn't happen to me but the bloke was landing 1 fish when another took his other lure still in the water. He had unhooked 1 fish & tried to get the other fish in. The fish jumped & that's when the other (now free lure) barbed hook went in to his thumb.
They didn't have a pair of cutters between them so his m8 had to go off for some leaving him waiting for him to come back.
The main problem was is that it's barbed so they had to push the barbed bit of the hook out through his thumb & then cut the rest of the hook.
Yeah right!!!

While Trout fishing in Germany some yrs ago this happend to the guy next to me but we all carried cutters for that "just in case".
The fishery manager phoned for an ambulance & supplied the bandage for after the hook was removed. Yes the hook went in but came out the other side of his finger. I cut the barbed bit off then we were able to pull the rest out. A lot easier that the one above.

LOL Actually, fisherman ignore diving flags. When I was still diving, it got to a point where we needed spotters on the beach to warn the fishermen away.
