Supposedly, without violating Einstein's faster-than-light speed limit, they're looking at a potential "workaround" that might let them do something like this (but not in the forseeable "near future"). Here's a link that gives a relatively straightforward explanation.

That's really a great topic! I've been wanting to go to "Alpha Centauri"!
Maybe in a 100 years I'll get my chance? With the advances in medicine I suppose I might be able to make 160?

Thanks for sharing...great article!
God Bless,

PS
the first article was great too!

Wow! And all I wanted is to be able to turn off the light and jump in bed before the room got dark.

If you read the narrative of how the Big Bang is supposed to have unfolded you will be told that in trillionths of a second the universe expanded to many times the size of the Solar System. For this to have happened matter must have been travelling at many times the speed of light. So, either Einstein was right and the Big Bang theory is wrong or there are circumstances where the speed of light can be exceeded. I hope it's the second of these scenarios.

I wondered about that also then saw a presentation on the Discovery Channel that explained that after the initial Big Bang, it was space itself that was expanding at that rate. Since space is mass-less, the speed of light wasn't violated.

Yes, I've read similar theories, also that time ran at a different rate in the early stages. Still, I live in hope.
