i need help .when trying to go into hdr mode i'am not allowed to ,camera reads" option not available in presant settings or camera's currant state." what do i need to do?

Hdr mode cannot be turned on if you have RAW + jpg activated. Works with .jpg only.

As pcpiper has said, hdr mode does not work when raw files are chosen. You can take hdr photographs on the D5100 however by using 'bracketing' and create the full hdr picture in a program such as photoshop.
