Just ordered Nikon D7000 from Best Buy and am really excited. Havea a Nikon D90 (which I'll keep as backup). What book on the D7000 did u find most helpful? Is there a lot different in the 7000 from the 90?

David Busch's Nikon D7000 is very informative, and a good read. Also, there are many YouTube instructional videos that are quite helpful.

I've gotten several, and there was one I did not like. The author kept saying, "Refer to page xxx in your manual." If I wanted to read the manual, I would read the manual. I didn't want to keep two books nearby so I could read one. I don't know what D7000 book that was, but another member might know. Also, when you read descriptions of the books, that feature might be mentioned.

Nikon manuals are pure rubbish. If I have a question and am directed to page 34 and then 5 sentences later am told to go to page 58 and I read 8 more sentences later am told to go to page 145 etc. If Nikon can make a quality camera they sure as hell could find someone to write a comprehensive manual with info in the same place rather than having you go to 5 different spots to get an answer. This is true if you buy a $100 Nikon or a $3000 Nikon, same crap just different manuals. This is my only complaint about Nikon so I guess all and all that's not bad. I bought "Nikon D7000 for Dummies" which is very easy to understand but gets a little wordy---I'm going to check out the book suggested by Darrel Young and see how that fares. Don't really need it anymore but one can always pick up something new it seems..............
