Ah you mean "firesteel"

Dry sawdust/wood chippings on a piece of paper and keep the flat part still and draw the steel back away from the kindling

Or do you mean "in photography"

The title said "strike Finder" The body of the message asked for input if you had one. JR what is so hard to understand? shouldn't need much more information that what was given. Anyway, obviously no one has used it so the issue is moot. gheeze

Cool - i want one. have someone in mind to take it, camera, and metal tripod outside duing lighting storm to get me some photographs. Even have a small hill nearby that would be great to use for the shots.

That would be a must-have if I lived in Florida. We don't get enough lightning to make it worth the price.

"Magic Lantern" is also a series of camera books. I wonder how they avoided a legal battle over the use of the term.

I have been watching this product. It is advertised to use your iPhone/droid to trigger your camera with a number of different stimulus. Noise, light, motion, time lapse etc. The app is free the only cost is the "dongle" to connect to your camera $29.95. If I end up getting one, I'll post comments.
