Great article. I believe we probably all go through these feelings at some point in developing our craft. Thanks for sharing this article.
What a GREAT article!!! We can get so "snobbish" sometimes in this "I,ve GOT to have it" affluent culture...this was refreshing. Back when I shot film, I used one lens, albeit a zoom...but I got some great shots. Now, I am always thinking I need more...this article caused me to step back and reflect....

At 78 I don't feel I have a year to donate. Therefore I'll just learn to live with my GAS.
Good article, makes perfect sense. Thank you for this, Jerry !
this really hit home. I just updated my lens in summer and new camera at Christmas. Now I am thinking of getting a better lens next summer but after reading this I think I will just hold off. One lens may be tough but I think I will try his advise using 2 lens. thanks for the info
Gee, I didn't post this to hurt the economy. :D
oops.....sent the message twice...hmmm...no delete comment button...sorry guys!
I am going to try that myself for awhile.
Makes one think -- thanks jerry
Wow! This really hits home. I believe most of us, UHH members, are victims of G.A.S. It would be refreshing to hear from those who still practice and enjoy one-camera-one-lens shooting. Some of my best pictures were shot during my college days using my Kodak Retina IIIc, with its incredibly sharp 50mm Xenon lens. My budget was limited and I had to make every shot count, especially while shooting Kodachrome 25 which required sending the roll off for processing and then waiting for ten days to see the results.

i'm 74 so i'm with you. however now and then i try a one camera one lens day.
Great article, Jerry... I only wish I could stick to one lens but my ADHD probably won't let me. 8-) I'm too easily distracted by al the "gadgetry" of modern photo equipment.
Not to worry though... The economy has nothing to fear from me. I also suffer from 'empty wallet' syndrome. :?

The gadgetry and electronics are what keep me interested.
