Sorry that is DSC-R1
I want to do some nature shots and I am on a limited budget so looking for something used in good condition.
Or if you know of a telephoto lens online (Amazon etc) that works well with this camera and is less than $150 or so I would also appreciate that info or any other info you think might help me.
Thanks you for reading
John
I think there's some confusion. The DSC R1 is a fixed lens (24-120) camera that came out around 2005. It is not an interchangeable lens camera.
So I am stuck with the limits of the lens I have ????? I thought I could screw an addition lens on to the one that is on there and increase the "draw"

Thanks Mogul....was looking for something a little less involved (cheaper, smaller) that had a reach with "just reasonable" pitcure quality.
P.S. That bracket looks like it is going to add a lot to the cost of using that lens.
Thanks again

It is cheaper and you will have a better camera if you,
buy something new like the Sony cybershot DSC-HX200V.
That is if you like SONY. It has 18.2 mp and a 30X zoom.
Shop around and you can get new for around $300.
it's new with a warrenty and a much better camera.
If you want to change lens then you need a DSLR camera
Nikon and Canon also make good camera's that
will do what you want for a good price.
Search for Raynox adapters. They have some awesome "closeup/macro" lens adapters and may have some telephoto as well.
However, for telephoto you would do better to upgrade the camera to a current model Sony, or maybe the Canon SX50 with its 24-1200mm zoom. New ones would range between about $250 and $450 for these and similar models.

There are dozens of auxiliary lenses available on Ebay at budget prices. You'll need to know your filter size, as these lenses screw onto the front of your built in lens (as you probably already know). It's kind of a shame though to put that on the front of the Carl Zeiss lens that's built into the camera.
Thanks everyone for your replies...looking into all this stuff...was very helpful
Gotta agree kinda hate putting it front of the Zeiss.
Don't know of anyone who said they love them....Don't know what to believe on those reviews...was hoping for a first hand account
Problem with going to a new camera is not the $300 or so (though it is a factor)...it is the camera bag, card, batteries etc on top of that.
the camera lens is a 67mm
