I found sigma 17-70 F2.8-4.5 DC Marco in craiglist. Is it good and does it fits good onto my canon 60D. It comes with UV crystal optic filter, cap /hood. Want for 290.00.

Bob, how about sports such basketball, volleyball?
It's a superb lens - one of my favourites. Very sharp.

Is it good? ... Oh yes, it is good, in fact it is very very good and my favourite and most used lens :)
A friend of mine just bought one for his Sony A77....loves it...

Going back to your initial question:
does it fit good onto my canon 60D? Assuming that it is a Canon EOS mount, yes. That lens is made with several camera company mounts. Make sure your are buying a Canon EOS mount.

HI Hames, Good morning. I have all sigma lenses, and I have the Sigma 10-20mm f3.5. I like this lens so much but I am interested in that same lens you are looking at.
One thing I can say, if you get the lens and do not like it, just resale it on Ebay. Sigma has been really doing a great job with it's lenses. I have the 10-20mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 50-200mm, 18-250, 70-300mm. Thay have given the working man an oportunity to have god quality glass at an affordable price.

I have had one on my Canon 30D for a number of years and it's generally quite a good lens. Mine is the non stabilised model and the only criticism I would have is always use it stopped down a bit. It could just be my lens but on some flash shots which I did of a large group with the lens wide open it was soft down one side of the frame. Apart from that a good general purpose lens.

It is permanently attached to my 50D and I use it as my backup for weddings.
The 4.5 is an OK lens - the newer F4 is better. $ 290 is a bit high for the 4.5 version .....more like $250.

I finally decided, I bought it for $200 dollars. The seller accepted my offer. Thank you for your helping and good advice.
