I think it's the brown stink bug - Euschistus servus. They are brown dorsally, but greenish on the underside.

That would be ventrally? LOL. I had to look up dorsal.

#1 & #3 show the piercing proboscis used to draw fluids out of plants. This is a very destructive insect.

i use $60 tubes,i think the do a great job. i dont mean they will come close to a mpe65. are you using them with a macro lens and flash?tom

I have tubes but haven't tried them out. Between the 100-mm and the 65-mm, I have more then enough challenge right now, but won't rule em out. I'm using the Canon MT-24 twin speedlights with modified diffusers

On my monitor, your images appear a tad dark. I cannot tell if you need to increase your speedlight output a bit, or tweak more exposure in PP.
