Any of the NCAA Mens Basketball?

I have a difficult time watching leaves turn color, or paint dry,
or grass grow.

After watching the greats in all college and pro sports, it is
getting to be time to turn away. I don't know how anyone can
get excited anymore in pro or amateur sports.

Have you ever taken videos of any sports event you attended?
I have never done so.

Is it just me or everything going down hill? Just wondering.

I may start watching pro ball again when they raise the basket to a height proportional to the players increased height. In the 50's the average height of the US male was 5'8". A 6'6" player was phenomenal.

I understand. I have never understood the passion have over sports. To me they are just games and nothing short of boring.
I don't begrudge anyone's interest, I just don't understand it.

I was 6ft when I was in JR high school. I ran on the track team. The footbal coach recruted me for the football team because I could out run everyone.I learnd and loved the game. Played End. And back then we played both offence and defence. I played many 60min games with no break. Now all I hear the TV anouncers say is how tired the defence is because how long they have been on the field. I loved the game of football and never remember of being to tired to stay on the field for the whole 60 mins. I did play a little when I came out of the navy for $20 a game. Our ins covered if we got hurt for the DR. And hospital but not for your lost time off your full time job. I was married and had a son. So I had to quit the game and take care of my family. I remember when they interviewed one small pro football player was drafted out of collage the guy couldnt even write his own name. He signe everything with an X. How did he ever get through school. And just look at the big bucks these guys pull down today.

I met my Mother-in-Law, to be, in 1964. She told me her
husband was a GEO-PHYSICIST (UC-Berkley) and had a degree
from CAL-Tech (Pasadena), Aeronautical Engineering.

This goes back to pre-WWII & 1943. He was one of the early birds in OIL EXPLORATION, around the world. Where there is oil,
he helped find it. He worked till he was 80 yrs old. He is 101 and
weighes same as in 1943. He was an orange grove owner.

MIL complained at the time that NFL and MLB players were
making more than the brains. Brawn has always made more.

Look at the contracts being signed in 2012-13.

Just look at what stupid Justin B. makes for his "songs".

Saw something that showed what someone made in 1935
($1K) per year is now equal to $16K per year,(2013)

Jackie Robinson only made max of $27,000 per year.
Sandy Koufax went on strike (spring training) 1966 cause
he wanted $125K. Don Drysdale wanted $110K. They were
HOF'ers. Making $50K in the 60's, is now = to $250K today.

I have been playing (since 1947), coaching (20 years), and officiating (4775 matches) world football (soccer to you) for decades, and photographing it for about half a dozen. It is the world's greatest and most watched and played sport. More people around the globe play it than watch Bizball (slowball). Only in 'Merican football is the game we call football in the U.S. played primarily with the hands. There are 163 "Nations" in the UN (Untied Nations) but 206 National Federations compete in the men's World cup each 4 year period. If you joined the majority of the world and watched soccer, you doubtless would change your mind about the quality of today's sports play. Of course you would have to study the Laws of the Game, and work to understand it's oh-so-difficult challenge of playing such a very simple game (legal deception, and the use of space) that is so difficult to do better than your opponent does. It is worldwide referred to as "the beautiful game". Study it and play it and you will see why. But, unlike so many sports, you will have to actually THINK to learn and understand it. Welcome aboard if you are willin', and have a good and flexible mind ! ....soccermick333@yahoo.com

P.S. : to see comparative values, a player transfer from one team to another (often from continent to continent) might cost the acquiring team 20 or 50 or 100 million or more, just for the privilege of paying the player maybe 10 or 20 or 30 million per year on contract.
Our U.S Soccer now finally has a top notch coach, who played on the top teams in 4 different European leagues, and coached in 3. We FINALLY have a coach who will ultimately lead the US into the world's top 20, if not the top 10 amongst the 206 Federations. We have the raw talent; now we have the knowledgeable leadership ! How sweet it's going to be !

The U.S. Women have won the Women's World Cup twice, God bless 'em. Watch 'em !
