I hate to be rude, but this is a Photography site, not a Cell Phone site. You don't mention brand or model of phone, if that would even help on a photo site. My suggestion would be to go to the site of your cell phone's manufacturer and see if they can guide you in the correct direction. Sorry, but unlike Wabbit, this question just rubbed my fur in the wrong direction.

How about my problem when using Verizon cellular:
I would often receive a voice mail message nearly a week after someone left it even though my phone was active every day except at night. Now what if that call was an emergency?
Finally got rid of them and went with Consumer Cellular at a much lower cost per month.
Anyone else experience the problem?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 with Verizon for three years. have had no trouble with it. However, my son has the same problem as you with his galaxy. I'm going to guess that whatever little doodad that picks up calls in sleep mode has stopped working. And when something stops working on one of these things, it usually means it's not got long to live. probably should be making funeral plans. I suspect the life span of these phones is no more than three years.

this is the general chitchat section. All subjects are welcome. And it beats the endless noise about gun control.

Check to see if it has an "Airplane Mode" and make sure that is not on.

Sometimes there's not anything that can be done with a phone when it starts doing things like that. I don't know why. My friend had to upgrade a few months back because her phone stopped sending and recieving texts. For whatever reason it was something to do with the phone and it was just easier to get a new phone. That could be what's going on. Talk to the people of your phone company first and see if they know anything to help. From there maybe try the manufacturer of the phone and see if they have had any problems or recalls or something with the phone. Outside of that a new phone might be in order.

Okay, if we are going to go there.... I made my statement and I will stand by it. Not only did the OP ask for cell phone advise on a Photo group; I will re-state.... There is no indication of the brand or model of the cell phone. As with camera issues that are posted, if you do not know what equipment is being referenced, it is very difficult to assist anyone. Personally, I attempt to help anyone I can, even when called a Dip S&*t. I made my apologies in my opening comment. It rubbed my fur the wrong way; just as your uncalled for, name calling does. I feel that I did give a logical answer to the problem, the equipment manufacturer's web site.

One thing you might try is taking out the battery for a few minutes, reinsert it and see if the phone might have reset itself. I had cell phone for about 2 years and while on vacation i noticed it was getting warm, very warm. I couldn't turn it off or do anything with it. A clerk in Yellowstone suggested taking the battery out for a while. That solved the problem and I used it for another year with no trouble. Virgil
