Looks like a hornet to me. I was about 5 or 6 and got a dozen or so inside my shirt. I high-stepped it across the farm yard setting a land speed record for that age group. It is said that my toes hardly touched the ground. Bawled my eyes out.

Both the beetle and the hornet are well done.

Possibly a Southern Yellow Jacket wasp (Vespula squamosa).

i think you guys are wrong.this bee is only 1/4" long

I'm think it's a wasp, but I'm not sure which one. I don't think it's a yellow jacket. The color pattern is wrong for V. maculifrons and V. squamosa, and the body is too slender. It looks superficially like wasps in the genius Myzinum, but if it's only 1/4 inch long, I think that's really small for that group.

Take a look at it in google and see what you think.

i measured the yellow center of the weed and it is 1/4" diameter.so its about 1/4" not counting the antenna
