I got home last night and saw this outside my back window. I'd love to hear your comments, good and bad. You can't hurt my feelings so please be critical. I like it but I'm not sure what to do with the moon, HDR maybe. I shot it with a 5D MIII with a 16-35mm f2.8 on RRS tripod & ball head.

An interesting shot... I like it. It appears a bit tilted down on the right side but that could be the lay of the land. Not being there it's difficult to tell.

The moon? I'd leave it right there bright as it is. Yes it's an eye catcher but then isn't that what you're after. First my eye went to the brightest spot, the moon, but soon I was exploring the rest of the shot.

Well done.

Thank you for your comments Jimmy, I know what you mean about the shot appearing skewed but I did take care to level the camera before the shot.

I'm sure you did. Nice work in any case. But... since I live here in Phoenix where it's 83 degrees as I type at 11:57am our time... I think I'll pass on coming to your country - tee... hee.

I like it a lot! I'm a little curious how would look if part of left side was cropped out.

Great shot.
Maybe, just maybe try and catch more of the moon next time, if you have the opportunity.
Anyway great shot. If you use photo shop, give a curves layer a try and see if you can't kick up the highlights in the ice which would be a nice lead up to the moon.

Thank you Linda, I may try cropping it next week. Unfortunately my busy weekend doesn't include Photography.

Thank you Frank, I can see where a little more moon might have been better. It seems that the small things are what make a good photo.

I don't know how I'd feel about after seeing it, but I wonder about actually cropping out the moon.
