I'm glad you clarified that. Years ago I was told that the Amish didn't mind candid shots, but if they posed for the photo it was ungodly. Also, from what I remember, these girl dress like Menonnonites not Amish. Correct me here.

Some Amish object, most don't if you stay far enough away. A LOT of Amish have cameras themselves. Most would be glad if you send them a photo of themselves.
I took a few of my neighbor and he kept asking when I would give him some.
Some would not give permission but would really want to see them.
A few would chase you off their place if you got the camera out! Amish are like others, many different ways of doing things.
So there you have it from someone who was driving a horse and buggy until he was 30!

That was my thoughts. We have a lot of Mennonites here in WV. They dress similar. Usually with that headdress. Taking there picture is ok.
