This was shot with a Nikkor 105G @ 1:1 with 68mm of extension + the Raynox 250, then cropped 4x... so I would guess it's about 12x.
Obviously the angle isn't good, but he wouldn't face the lens (MWD was about 3" ), and was prone to fly away. At least got some wing detail. ISO 400, speedlight at 1/4 power, 1/80-sec at f/22.
