Any one have any experience of the Colour Munki Photo
http://xritephoto.com/documents/literature/en/L7-511_ColorMunki_Family_en.pdfto calibrate both scanner, screen and printer?
or any better suggestions, for that price or less.
have spent time in the past trying to manually find the best profiles etc, but I think the time has come to finally get a tool to do it properly. Fed up of having to print out multiple copies and editing colour balance each time in LR or photoshop to get the correct print colour
The ColorMunki, Huey Pro and Datacolor Spyder are all good devices - do a search here for "Color Management"
I found Color Munki a bit fiddly on set-up. Switched to X-rite's Eye-one Display 2. Simple calibration, cost effective.
Colour Munki Photo is their device for monitor, printer and projector calibration, if you are only going to use it for your monitor you can save a lot of money and buy one of their display models but if you want to use it for your printer also it is a great choice. Not sure how it works with TN monitors but works well wit IPS monitors. Sometimes you can find them on ebay used for less money.
I have the ColorMunki Photo and have used the ColorMunki Display. If you are NOT going to calibrate your printer, get the Display. It is cheaper and works just as well as the Photo.

Have Color Munkie and use it for printer and monitor. I think it is easy to use and does a good job. They have frequent webinars to show you how to get best results. I had to check with them at one time when I was changing computers and got quick and efficient results.
Which color munki do you have?
I actually use my daughter. She is a Graphic Arts major in college. Probably more expensive than a Colour Munki. But in all seriousness, once you have it set up, The Colour Munki is a good way to go especially in matching up monitor to printer. I am red/green colour blind and I rely on devices like this for my colour alignment especially when my daughter is not around. I do my own printing and this sort of thing is very important to me. If you have the bucks, go with the Color Munki.

Who are you asking? The poster above you mentioned he calibrates his printer and monitor. That would be the ColorMunki Photo, not the Display. Display is only for the monitor.

I have the Colormonki Photo. This unit will do stellar calibration of monitors and it creates really good printer profiles. The Colormonki does not calibrate the printer, this is not the way to think about this. The Colormonki creates profiles for each paper that you want to use and the printer uses these profiles to print with. The Colormonki is a little expensive but think about how much paper and ink you waste trying to get good prints. You must calibrate your monitor and you must use good profiles. The Colormonki does both and does them very well.

You are right, it does NOT calibrate the printer, only the paper. But unfortunately, I believe that is how they represent it ;(

This is very confusing for many people. I think that there is so much mis information regarding this issue. The problem is that people dont do any investigating and they never open a book to learn the proper nomenclature. There are so many "experts" out there , self taught people that are so sadly mis informed.

I knew that I forgot to say something about that.

The Color Munkie I have is one I have had for a few years and costs about 450 or 500 dollars. You are able to get profiles for your printer for use in Lightroom or Photoshop, adjust your monitor, work with your projector and attach profiles to a photograph to present a more equal observation on multiple computer monitors. The main purpose is to help you with consistancy across all platforms. As far as I know there is no model number. The actual piece of equipment looks the same as my original purchase but software was upgraded. I have used printer profiles and monitor adjustment.
