Hi, I finally got a new Nikon D7000 & when I go to open the raw's it's a no go.
I've been looking around on the web & as far as I can see Adobe has no raw plug-in update for CS2 to use the D7000 files with, could someone please advice if this is correct ?
Also can someone give me some advive about Adobe DNG or PNG Converter, what is this for & can it help me with my problem in anyway & if so how ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, thanks for having a look for me.
Unfortunately it's what I came up with too but it's for CS5.
Cheers

Adobe does not provide raw updates for older versions, their way of saying "update" your software!

The Nikon D7000 is a very new camera and Photoshop RAW plug-ins for new cameras RAW files are based upon new technology requiring Photoshop CS5.

Adobe introduced support for the Nikon D7000 with Camera Raw 6.3. This update is not compatible with PS CS2.

There is an easy and free workaround. Use Adobe's DNG Converter. This utility will convert the D7000's Raw files to the non-proprietary DNG format. Once your Raw files have been converted to DNG, they will open in the Raw Converter in PS CS2. Here are the links you need.

Absolutely correct, thought he was just looking for an update to his now owned Camera Raw version. Read right over the D7000 part of his post.

FWIW, the newer versions of camera raw, in addition to supporting new cameras, have updated how they process raw files and capabilities.

I've switched totally to LR + plugins and let my CS expire. The cost of CS was just too high and LR has the exact same raw capability for less money and with a much better workflow / interface for a photographer.

That's right you can't update RAW for cs2, but why not use Nikon View.

I believe that if you download the DNG converter from Adobes's website, you will be able to convert your raw files from your Nikon to DNG and then open in CS2. The converter is free.

Your best option is to purchase LR4 and use this to do your initial editing and then transfer to CS2 after you're done.

Yep I've found this the best way to go,
I've updated my lightroom to open & edit then if needed go to Photoshop.
Thanks all for your input.
