I would like to thank Google for completely screwing up a good interface. They may have topped Microsoft for the "If Ain't Broke Don't Fix It!" reward. Now with Google Chrome my "Favorites" list is missing. I finally figured out if I open Internet Explorer I get the old version of the Google home page. You know, the one that works. So my "Favorites" list is there. But if I use that page to check email the "Compose" button doesn't work. So I use one version to go to my "Favorites" on the search page and go to the other version to be able to compose an email. Way to go guys! There are many suggestions on copying the "Favorites" to Chrome but all seem to involve third parties. No thanks!

Google calls the Bookmarks and if your bar is missing -
Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
Select Bookmarks.
Select Always show bookmarks bar.

You may also Import Favorites from IE to Chrome

Tried it several different ways and still doesn't work. Thanks though. I'll just live with two different versions for now and wait for the next screw up then I'll switch to a different browser altogether.

So you followed Google's instructions exactly and it is not there?

I did. There are a few import options and I tried three different ways with no luck. Doing a Google search in general revealed the fact that there are a lot of people with the same problem. I can live with it but the old version worked just fine. Where the hell are the "improvements"?

The vertical triple black bars in the far upper right. The drop down menu gives "Bookmark" options and also several other options. I tried the "import" under "Bookmark" options but no luck.

Got it! What a screwed up way to do things. I realize now that I was trying to import from the other Google rather than IE. Now it all makes sense. Thanks again. I'll sleep better tonight.

With all the good features of Chrome for me at least there are an equall number of " can't get to works" that I stay with Firefox, IE has always let in bugs so I stay away from that , Bob.

just read all the posts and i'm glad you got it worked out. one thing I learned years ago, if the way it works makes sense to us it probably will not work that way on my computer. that one thing has kept me from pulling my hair out. but the worse part is I still have trouble thinking like a computer. ;)
