I was contacted last month by BirdNote Weekly, a radio program about birds. They had spotted a photo of mine on Flicker.com and asked if they could use it to promote a show about hummingbirds. That's right, my photo was on radio!

This is a non-profit organization, so there was no compensation. But just curious... if I were a professional photographer, would this be considered a donation for tax purposes (USA).

Hey foehner, where about are you in St. Louis? I've never met any Hogs (but I plan to meet one for a photo shoot when I go on vacation in Alaska this summer if I ever get off my butt and book the thing)

I'm in South County. If you are familiar with the area... I have Suson Park as my backyard.

I've been thinking of Alaska for this summer too. Maybe someone should organize an Alaskan Hog-Fest?

I'll go along with the "where are you in St. Louis?". Born and raised there went to Roosevelt, left in '66, now in Maryland

I'm not really familiar with the area, but my sister is a county park ranger. She'd probably know. She lives in the city, off of Bates and used to work for the WBS. Just checked Google maps...you're way down south. I gotta go now. School's out early for Easter break and I drive a school bus.

About 30 years ago, I lived close to Roosevelt... about 5 blocks away. Still get to that area quite a bit... its a lot different (mostly positive). South Grand has a nice selection of restaurants now.

In Salisbury on "The Eastern Shore" 30 miles west of Ocean City for those not familiar with the area.

Hi foenher, You have photography on the radio, here in the UK we have gardening on the radio, There's a Welsh chap called Terry Walton who is often on BBC Radio 2 who presents a programme from his allotment in the Rhondda Valley. You can listen to him digging while he gives lots of useful advice about growing all sorts of vegetables. It a very unusual programme and is also very funny, particularly as he has a very strong South Wales accent, which can take some understanding.

Hello John... I lived in the UK for quite a while, but don't remember hearing Terry Walton on the radio. I *do* remember seeing Charlie Dimmock on tv... digging holes, pushing wheelbarrows and the like.
