This image speaks volumes. . .
One of my favorite images that speaks to my faith. Often the starkness of black & white will have the loudest voice. Let's see if others agree. . .?
Santa Barbara - Queen of the California Missions
Mooseeyes, I am just catching up and came across this wonderful image. B&W is certainly perfect as color can hinder the emotion and simplicity and change the focus. I love the etched framing on this. an artistic rendition.
Tell me about the sculpture in the left corner.
Carlysue,
This is one of the twenty-one old California Missions. This particular mission is the mission at Santa Barbara, called the Queen of the Missions.
This image is one of many that I took, using both color and black & white film. I think this was shot using Ilford XP2.
AS far as the sculpture in the left corner goes, I am not sure that I noticed this until I was going over the film later. Sometimes this happens, and often with wonderful results.
I cropped down to this view, replaced the sky, and put one of my edges on this image. . .all to the overall betterment of this very "vocal" image.
Thank you for looking and commenting.
