To eliminate problems with unscrewing filters from a lense is to fill boththreads, on a filter and lens with graphite( from a soft pensile). I use this method for many- many years. Try it yourself.
Just a sharpen pencil. You need to carefully drive a lead through the thread from start to finish on filters and lenses. After that you have to lightly wipe every thread.

If you are near a school supply store or an art store, you can purchase a #1 or "primary" pencil. The "lead" is softer and more readily enters the screw thread channels. The drawback is the anount of residue left by the pencil, which must be removed carefully. My son, a contractor, always carries one to lubricate helical adjustments such as on his adjustable square. Another, less effective, method of lubricating threads is with a bar of soap or candle tallow.
Actually you are very right, many years ago my father used to split pencils open take the core out and grind it down, then apply with a small art brush.

You can buy and carry a filter wrench ... less than $6.00 .... no graphite dust etc. ....
After you get graphite dust on one lens you may find it wasn't such a great fix after all. I'd be very careful and use it very sparingly....JMHO of course.
