11.11.11.
Since today, The eleventh of November, is Veterans Day in The U.S.A. (Armistice day in Britain) may I respectfully show 11 images. They range from a war memorial in my home town in England to photos of Arlington West. (A temporary memorial erected every Sunday, and this weekend, next to Santa Monica Pier. )Each Cross, Crescent and Star of David represents a member of the U.S. military who has died in Iraq or Afghanistan. It is customary to observe two minutes silence at 11 a.m. If you wish to do so you may join me in doing so.

very nice. thank you for posting. for those interested, veterans day in the US was origionally called arminstice day as well to comerate the cease fire that ended WW1. and the tradition of 2 minutes silence at 11am was that the cease fire took effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1919. unfortunately for the world among those who survived was a german corpral who was rejected for art school and began dabelling in politics named adolf schikelgruber who changed his last name to hitler.

Your and all veterans are very welcome. This display, and others like it around the nation are very moving.
I think there is no other Country that appreciates and Honors their Soldiers more than the USA. When I look at old documentaries of WWII, Vietnam and the other wars I am truly touched by the courage an unselfish actions of our warriors. I am a Vet and proud to have served a great country but I fear our values are not quite the same as they once were or we have just lost site of what was sacrificed by so many.
I will join you at 11AM.
