Hello All, I am a Retired Fire Fighter , picking up digital photography as a hobby. I bought a canon t4i and have been trying to figure it out for the last 2 months. I came across the UHH site and after reading it daily for 2-3 weeks I realize how much I don't know!! I took the following yesterday, Baby Alex's first day. Fully automatic as I did not trust myself with screwing up his first pics. Any tips on shooting infants would be appreciated. thanks

How precious and welcome Ryan.
Adorable and welcome! You will learn and have fun here!
Beautiful baby!!! here's a tip. Go no flash...& try to photograph in natural light. The on-camera flash gives a harsh effect to this soft little of bundle.
Get him close to a window with good diffused light. Experiment with this type of "softer" light.
Good luck and post some more.....
Welcome to UHH!!!!
