Ever run into this problem with a subject before?
Steve, is this a trick question? If not, most of my models are human. I dont usually shoot Garfield.
That said, if my model is not VERY inthusiastic about a shoot, I would not even bother with them. In my experience if they don't say yes immediately and are enthusiastic, don't waste your time, they will probably not show.
Most models don't do 8 hour shoots, that's barely a work day.
The key is they wanting to be shot, not just you wanting to shoot them.
Don't confuse tired with no enthusiasm.

I don't use professional models; just family and the occasional friend. But you are so right and the same applies to family.
If only I'd realized that earlier.
My grandson is like the cat. He used to love having his picture taken. Now, I pull out the Nikon with the big lens (28-300mm) and he just hides his face. I've waited awhile and now he said that he'd let me take some pics the next time he comes over.
