I should have had my cam with me yesterday when the fog was being burned off by some sun around 8:00am..so today I go out and there's no sun. Just playing around looking for interesting views. This is with a graduated blue Cokin filter on the 18-135.

Shooting in fog requires an entirely different mind set than with "normal" lighting conditions - lower contrast, diffused light, etc. Interesting learning opportunity.

Waxing romantic even!?? ;)

This is a lovely, romantic shot!

Thanks Rach. Here's a third. These grape arbors just seemed interesting as they receded into the fog towards the tree.

I wish we had fog more here. Those are nice shots. Would have liked to seen that last one shot in HDR. Think it might have been really a good one to do that.

Have you done any HDR yet?

HDR very very rarely - not sure how this one will look but I'll try. This is what DynamicPhoto HDR did with the original raw file, I didn't mess with sliders or anything else.

The friend who took the picture of my daughter that several people tried to help me fix on here, also did an HDR on her. After watching him and seeing the results, I would really like to try it now. He took 8 shots, but only used 7 of them. It does not look like a typical HDR though.
Still, I think it came out nice.

In my opinion, Your last shot could be awsome if shot it in HDR. Please show it if you tried.

No - I don't have the talent for P/P so I generally just take them as they come out of the camera. Canon's DPP if I shot in RAW, convert to JPG and usually that's about it. I might play with brightness or contrast if I screwed up the exposure.

TY for the comment.

Whoops, did not see the picture before I answer. That looks nice, Jim.
I was thinking of the type of HDR where you take 6-8 shots at different levels of exposure and them merge them.

I keep getting the answers after I post my comments. One should not do the things when trying to get one's kid ready for school.
