Wasteful programs taxpayers pay for .... and some beneficial programs the government wants to stop because of budget shortfalls.

I'll present a few, and you can present some that you've heard about.

This first study has cost around $400,000 over the last few years. It is a study of the sex organs of ducks ...

Why should we spend any money on that? Let the private sector spend their own money, if they think there's a chance they can profit from such studies.

Now, here's a program that is being cancelled .... 4th of July celebration at Air Force Academy.

http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/air-force-academy-cancels-july-4th-celebration.html

Seems like that would be a good public affairs event to promote military enlistments and showcase the benefits of higher education and military readiness. So, they cancel it?

How about this one: "Sequestration has forced the Dept. of HHS to delay implementation of Obamacare until Hell freezes over. The timing of this cannot be foretold due to shutting down communications with Hell due to the Sequestration."

Or, maybe NOT.

It the same old strategy. Make the cuts in the highest profile ways and with maximum inconvenience to the public.

After the White House tours were cancelled due to lack of funds the administration approved $2.7 million for a study to find out why Lesbians tend to drive drunk. Seems fair, who wants to drive to the White House with all those drunk lesbians on the highway?

Community planners can be hired, but air traffic controllers are being furloughed ....

"Funding for the community planners is exempt from sequestration, while funding for air traffic control towers are not exempt from reduced funding, according to the FAA."

I don't think he's dumb. He's smart like a fox. He's accomplishing what he and his cronies have planned for decades ... the weakening of America; not by military might, but by undermining the bulwarks of society.

Americans will fight against armed threats, but they will accept seemingly innocent, incremental changes in American values.

$142,000,000 for a future Eisenhower display in Wash. DC. $9,000,000 already spent for a design concept.
That's $42,000,000 more than the sequester.
I have no offence to commemorating people and notable occurrences but not at this price.
And now we're biting the blackmail bullet of less government services, things that are designed to sway peoples opinions.

No thanks, your post is a waste of your time. This after seeing the fox-radio by line above. Think we all are mature enough to realize there are pros and cons to spending.

Sorry, but I disagree. No post I make is a waste of my time when we're discussing wasteful government expenditures. The news source is irrelevant, as the same information can be obtained from other sources that any reader can choose.

Your remarks are just demonstrating a closed, immature mind. The article cited is available on multiple news outlets. You can pick the one you like the most and it is still the same story of government waste at a time when we are told there isn't enough money for air traffic control or care for the elderly.

They said it takes $18,000 a week to run the White House tours so they stopped the tours and laid off the staff used to conduct them. Which do we need most: 21 weeks of White House tours or paying somone $395,000 to measure duck peckers?

If it helps heres a good liberal news source:

One never knows what one learns from scientific investigation. Maybe a cure for cancer!

As for the sequestration the cuts are mandated by the GOP Congress and the President has no say. They are across the board cuts with no ability to rationalize the cuts.

You vote for what you get and you got a stupid GOP congress!
