I got my Canon T4I just 6 months ago and now they have come up with a new model. Didn't this, T4I, just come out last year? From what I see it is the same camera. Has anyone read about the T5I? Just curious as to why the new model already. Looks as if sensor the same. www.imaging-resource/PRODS/canont5i/canon-t5iA.HTM I hope the link works ,Tim

What's in a name? All the Tx"i" models are quite good for the average consumer. I still have my T2i (550D) and an older 40D and 60D. The T2i gets the most time when I need DSLR - except for track where the AF on the xxD kills it. What's not to like? Killer image quality and lightweight design. I would love something even smaller by Canon in a FF with the AF and speed of my 40D in 12-15mp. That would be one ring to rule them all for me. I'll keep hoping.

The email I got today from B&H is titled "the world's smallest DSLR."

The Canon T5i appears to be pretty much the same as the T4i except for a smaller body.

Here is a look at one:

I sometimes wonder what Canon is thinking? It looks to me like this camera would be difficult to use if you have large hands.

No different than a mirrorless. Can always add a grip.

Are you thinking about the SL1 as far as the size? I thought after looking at it,it was the same as my T4I. What makes it different? I didn't notice any difference between the T4i and the T5I.

Canon's MO is always the same. Very little spec increase per one hop on the Rebel line. You shouldn't expect significant change in one rev. Makes little sense to go from 4i to 5i but if you had an older model 1i or 2i and no desire to go to a xx model then you might be in the market for this newer model.

Again there seems to be some confusion here. I look at the SL1 and the T5I being totally different systems. I am not looking to compare Sl1 to the T4I. T4i to T5I do not care anything for the SLI. The comparison images on the link show the SL1 and the T4i Not the T5I. Okay,I am just going to leave this alone.Too new to do comparison. Do not understand Canon reasoning here. Seems like a waste of money on their part to come out with a new setup this soon after the T4I getting to the market. Thanks to all that have replied. Tim

Makes it easier for people with small hands though!
