#1, Is Adorama a good place to buy a lens?

#2, Would you buy a USED lens (marked (9+ out of 10)
from them?

I am looking at a Tomran 200-500mm

Yes and yes. It's good to check here about sellers because there are many that are awful. I have bought several used lenses on eBay, with no regrets. I also prefer to buy factory refurbished cameras. You get a good product at a good price.

Thank you jerryc41. I think I will get the lens, it is about a1/3the cost of a new one.

I have used them for many purchases. Never had a problem in the past three years.

1, David, I prefer Adorama to B&H(all things being equal) because of their commitment to photographers via their AdoramaTV. What a wonderful recourse. We need to keep it conning.
2, if the price of that lens is less than a refurb, by all meas buy it. Most of the reputable outfits have a very good rating system. If they error, it's usually to the + side.
3, for used also look at KEH.
Always make sure the shipping won't kill you.

I bought a Nikon 70-300mm VR lens from Adorama a couple months ago...It was used an in excellent condition. Adorama does not use a rating system with numbers. They use letters D, E+, E, E- etc. D being the best condition. Adorama will also give a description of the letter rating. They are a trusted company and I would not hesitate to buy a used lens from them if the price is right.

I was at the store yesterday, the sales people that I spoke with were not pushy. For what it's worth, that means a lot to me. Ken
