Yes the 70-300 works very well at long range and the macro option is fantastic

Ouch, if I had $1000 sitting around I would be all over that deal like a crow on roadkill. I like your lens selection and I have wanted to do a side by side comparison with my a37. The 50mm macro is the one I would arm wrestle for, though.
